Each year, the four Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie join forces to collect new, unused underwear and socks for individuals experiencing homelessness, those who are street-involved, and others in need. These items—basic essentials for comfort and dignity—are among the most requested yet least donated. Unfortunately, the demand for them continues to grow.
This initiative supports eight local agencies that provide shelter and services to vulnerable individuals, including:
- Odyssey House
- Sunrise Youth Emergency Shelter
- The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre
- Canadian Mental Health Association – Alberta Northwest Region
- Northreach Centre
- Saint Lawrence Centre
- Wapiti House
- Northern Addictions Centre
On January 6th, the Grande Prairie Sunrise Rotary Club further strengthened this campaign by donating $2,500 to each agency, enabling them to purchase additional essential items for those they serve.
